Turngrove Bifurcated Fans
Case Sizes: 175–1000mm | Max Temp (EHT): 315°C | Temp Grades: NT / HT / EHT | Drive: Direct
Turngrove Bifurcated Fans are inline axial flow fans with the motor positioned outside the main airstream, enabling operation in high-temperature and contaminated-air conditions. Available in metric internal diameters from 175mm to 1000mm, they are offered in three temperature grades: NT (up to 90°C), HT (up to 215°C with monolux motor insulation), and EHT (up to 315°C with motor cooling spinner and steel impellers). Fabricated in mild or stainless steel, they are recommended to cool down naturally before switching off following high-temperature operation.
Removing the motor from the airstream protects it from heat and contamination, allowing the fan to handle high-temperature gases, fumes, or dirty air that would otherwise damage a conventional inline motor.
NT handles up to 90°C with plastic, aluminium, or steel impellers. HT handles up to 215°C using aluminium or steel impellers with monolux motor insulation. EHT handles up to 315°C, requiring steel impellers, a motor cooling spinner, and monolux insulation.
Yes — it is recommended that the fan is allowed to cool down with airflow still running before it is switched off. This protects the motor and bearings from heat soak damage after operation at elevated temperatures.
