Flamgard Mixed Flow Axial Fans
Flow Principle: Mixed Flow | Design: Non-Overloading | Material: SS 304/316L | Monitoring: Sensors Available
Flamgard Mixed Flow Axial Fans combine axial and centrifugal airflow principles within a compact inline casing, generating higher static pressures than conventional axial fans without the risk of stalling. The non-overloading impeller design ensures reliable operation even when system resistance increases — such as when filters become clogged — providing inherent safety against motor overload. Fabricated from stainless steel and suitable for hazardous environments, the range supports comprehensive ancillary and monitoring options including vibration monitoring, rotational sensors, and bearing thermocouples.
Mixed flow fans impart both axial and centrifugal velocity components to the air, enabling higher static pressure generation than a purely axial design without resorting to the larger diameter of a centrifugal fan. This makes them ideal for moderate-to-high pressure inline duties in space-constrained installations.
A non-overloading characteristic means the power demand peaks at or before the design operating point and does not increase as flow is reduced. If filters block or system resistance rises, the fan will not draw excessive current and overload the motor — a critical safety feature for unattended plant.
The Flamgard Mixed Flow range supports vibration monitoring sensors, rotational speed sensors, and bearing thermocouples — enabling continuous condition monitoring of the fan's mechanical health. These are particularly valuable in remote or critical process applications where unplanned downtime cannot be tolerated.
