Flamgard Bifurcated Fans are heavy-duty, hazardous-area inline fans with the motor mounted clear of the airstream, fabricated from thick stainless steel (304/316L) with brass anti-spark protection. Available in imperial case sizes from 15" to 48" internal diameter, they are suitable for arduous environments and can be fitted with high-specification Exde motors. The bifurcated design allows operation with contaminated, corrosive, or high-temperature air that would otherwise be unsuitable for conventional inline fans.

The motor is removed from the airstream entirely in a bifurcated design. This means hot, contaminated, or corrosive air passes through the fan casing without contacting the motor windings, vastly extending motor life and enabling operation in conditions unsuitable for standard axial fans.

Exde explosion-proof motors can be fitted, making Flamgard Bifurcated Fans suitable for ATEX-classified zones where flammable gases or dusts may be present in the airstream or surrounding atmosphere.

Options include fan feet, plate mounting, backing flanges, and anti-vibration mounts, providing flexibility for a wide range of installation configurations in industrial plants and process facilities.
